I have taught in the Political Science and International Studies Department at the University of Tampa since 2007. My research and teaching tends toward topics in West African Politics, Community Development, and Sustainability. My first experience traveling outside of the US was as an undergraduate going to study at the University of Ghana for a semester. It was such an impactful experience I want to share it with my students at UT. I have led a travel course to Ghana 11 times and shown 132 faculty and students the wonderful country for the first time. Several have caught the bug and made it back to West Africa in their personal or professional lives after graduating. These travel courses are easily the most rewarding experience of my teaching career. If you are interested in seeing a little bit more about my teaching and research I put that here. If you would like to email me with questions about the program, feel free to reach out by emailing me at kfridy@ut.edu with UTAfrica as the subject.
